How To Enable 2-Factor-Authentication (2FA)

Prerequisites:

• A account at https://gp.expanse.host.

• A phone or computer that can download your authenticator app.

We recommend using another deveice for 2FA then the device you use commonly for your Game Panel account.

Step 1: Settings Page.

Click here to take you to your game panel account's settings. This will take you to the authentication setup page. It should look like this.

Step 2: Download a mobile authenticator.

Skip to step 3 if you already have your own authenticator app you wish to use.

You have multiple options, such as Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator or Authy if your on Desktop.

Authy | Best used for desktop users.

• Supports desktop and mobile, and tablet.

• Syncs your 2FA codes across multiple devices.

Microsoft Authenticator (now known as Authenticator) | Best if you use Microsoft Edge.

You must have a Microsoft Account for Microsoft Authenticator.

• Syncs your passwords to your phone, if you use Edge.

• Syncs to other devices.

• Has a home screen widget you can use.

Step 3: Setting up the authenticator.

Open your selected app, and once you go through their onboarding process, but for these steps, I will be showing how to do these steps in Microsoft Authenticator, but it should be almost the same in any of the other apps I suggested above.

On our Game panel tab, press Enable Two Step, and it should bring up a QR code, and a string of letters and numbers below it. If you're using a mobile phone to enable 2FA, copy the whole line of string and letters. It should look something like this.

Game Panel > Account

Game Panel > Account > Press Enable Two Step

Then, go to your phone and press the add account button. Usually, it's going to be a plus symbol (+). On most other authenticators apps, it will go directly to the camera to scan a QR code. But on Microsoft Authenticator, you will have to press the other account button.

Skip this section unless have the Expanse Game Panel open on the same device that you're setting up 2FA on

So, the scanner, there should be a button that says "Enter code manually" click on that, and as the account name, you can put whatever you want, but I recommend putting Expanse Game Panel, and then for the secret code, paste in the code we copied from the panel earlier.

Now, if you're setting it up using your PC and phone, welcome back. Scan your QR code, and you should be brought to either your home screen or asking to set a logo. Set it to any logo that you want, if prompted.

Step 4: Complete!

Click where it says Expanse.host, so it displays your code, and head back to the Game Panel, and put in your code, and your password, and you should have 2FA enabled. Congrats!
